Ephesians 1:15–19 — The Glory of God’s Inheritance
In Ephesians 1:15–19, Paul prays that believers would have the “eyes of their hearts enlightened” so they can truly grasp three profound realities: the hope of God’s calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of His power toward those who believe. This sermon explores a fascinating question within the passage: Is the inheritance referring to what believers receive from God, or to the fact that believers themselves are God’s treasured inheritance? Looking through both Old and New Testament scriptures, the message shows that the answer is both. God redeems and claims His people as His possession, and in turn grants them a glorious inheritance in Christ. The message reminds believers that being part of God’s kingdom means sharing in His victory, even through weakness, suffering, and failure, all for the purpose of displaying His glory.
