In this sermon, we walk through Philippians 3:1–14 and Paul’s “resume” to see how a man with every religious and cultural advantage came to count it all as rubbish compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. The pastor shares his own testimony of moving from fear-driven legalism and “cool kid” indifference to a deep, Spirit-given conviction that Jesus is real, present, and better than anything the world offers. The message calls both Christians and non-Christians to pray a “dangerous prayer” for God to awaken in them a desire to know Christ above all else, even through suffering, and to press on toward Him rather than letting the world’s “excrement” pile up in their hearts.
