The Disciplined Pursuit of Delight in God

This sermon walks through Psalm 1 with a special call to fathers: Who are you listening to? It contrasts the “counsel of the wicked” with a life rooted in God’s Word, showing how advice from the culture slowly shapes our conduct and eventually our identity. Instead of absorbing the world’s views on masculinity, sexuality, and family, men are called to reject poisonous counsel and refuse to live like those who don’t know God. The heart of the message is the “disciplined pursuit of delight” in the law of the Lord: daily, intentional time in Scripture, combined with dependent prayer, asking God to “incline my heart” and awaken real desire for Him. True delight in God is possible only through the new heart given in Christ, and over time it produces stability, fruitfulness, and prosperity in all He calls us to do.
